Inspired Recruitment is welcoming the new Age Discrimination legislation to
become effective from October 1st 2006.
Managing Director Nick Hardisty welcomes the legislation and feels it is long
overdue. "For too long now this has been a problem with employment businesses,
agencies and clients alike. Often people with excellent skills and ability are
being overlooked due to their age which, in addition to being morally wrong,
is also short sighted and naive. With better education the recruitment sector
and its clients can have access to a vastly extended resource pool not to mention
enjoying all the benefits an age-diverse workforce can bring to an organisation"
Kevin Moore, Contracts Director, is a staunch advocate against of all forms
of discrimination and says that the legislation has been a long time in coming.
"All our consultants adopt the approach that ALL candidates that are suitable
for a role must be considered. As part of their training they are advised how
to deal with situations in which discrimination may arise, even if unintentionally
and how to educate clients and candidates when the need arises. The introduction
of the new legislation further affirms my personal stance and one Inspired Recruitment
has adopted since its inception 6 years ago."
